Aaliyah Daniel Haughton exploded into fame in 1994 when she released the release of her first album Age Ain't Nothing But an Numer. At the age of 15 years old, the album earned Gold standing. It was done as part of a group that was greatly inspired by R. Kelly and it brought her into the limelight. In 1996 Jermaine and Timbaland made Aaliyah's album One In A Million. It contained If Your Girls Only Knew the most-sold single. Aaliyah gained international fame for her R&B songs through this album. In 2000, she was as a character in Romeo Must Die, a action/romance film starring Jet-Li. Joel Silver, film producer and director of the film Romeo Must Die caught her during an awards event. The year 2002 was the time she appeared as in the Anne Rice-based horror film Queen of the Damned. Then she was introduced to the Matrix in the form of Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also performed in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 as well as The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. The actress is the first Indian American to be born in Connecticut. Mann the stage name is an abbreviation for Mankad, her married surname. She uses Aarti Mann as well as Aarti Majumdar for professional name. Her acting career began in the mid 2000's, with a few appearances on television and in films. Her other notable projects include Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. In addition, she has appeared in advertisements for major brands like international car manufacturer Volvo. The actress lives with her family in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter. She is continuing to develop her acting career.
