Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his unique mixture of soul gospel, R&B as well as R&B. From Broadway to European music festivals and clubs Sunshine has performed everywhere. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career singing and playing the piano in the church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship in the Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan It has been remixed since by a variety of producers and has become a staple of her live set. The Fighting Temptations was the other soundtrack she sang on. in 2005 Tyler Perry hired her as his primary keyboardist for his stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to be the choral leader for the stage production. Sunshine was the subject of national media notice during the four performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at the Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
