Winona Ryder professional Winona Ryder, was born on Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her after her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author and editors. Ryder's father comes from the Jewish family. Ryder thinks she's Jewish. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder was born in the United States and moved with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. They didn't have electricity. Ryder was a voracious reader who spent all of her time reading books because she had no TV. Ryder started to take acting classes in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 aged 12 years old. The actress landed her first part on the large screen in 1986 at the age of 15 old. Ryder faced bullying in high school. Her hope was that she would be able to alter that. However, it didn't come to pass. But she kept working towards her goals. In 1988, she received her breakthrough role in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was able to continue her successful parts in several films. In 1993 she was nominated two times for Academy Awards. One of them for her role in The Age of Innocence.
